This Privacy Policy explains how AWE Color Swatches(“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when a merchant installs and uses our application on the Shopify platform. By installing the app, you agree to the practices described here.
Privacy at a glance
- We request only the Shopify access scopes needed to display swatches — products, themes, metaobjects, and files.
- We never access your customers' personal data; the app has no customer or order access.
- We never sell or rent your data.
- Data is encrypted in transit and is removed after you uninstall, in line with the mandatory Shopify data-erasure requests.
1. Who we are
AWE Color Swatches provides an application that integrates with and extends Shopify stores. For any privacy question or request, contact us at aweapps.contact@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
When you install or use the app, we may process the following categories of data:
- Store and account data: information Shopify shares when you install the app, such as the store name and domain, the store owner name and contact email, country, plan, and currency, together with the access scopes you grant.
- Authentication tokens: the access and refresh tokens that let the app connect to your store through the Shopify API on your behalf. These are stored securely and are not shared.
- App configuration and content: the swatch options, product groups, display styles, settings, and any custom CSS or scripts you create, along with the product identifiers and theme or file resources you configure for swatches.
- Billing data: your selected plan, subscription status, and related billing records, processed through Shopify billing.
- Usage and technical data: log data, IP address, device and browser information, and in-app actions, used for security, debugging, and improving the app.
- Cookies and session tokens: the embedded app uses session tokens and strictly necessary cookies to authenticate you within the Shopify admin.
3. How we use information
- Operate, maintain, and provide the features of the app.
- Authenticate users and secure access to the app.
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the service.
- Monitor, debug, and improve the performance and reliability of the app.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Legal bases for processing
For merchants in the EEA and the UK, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating and securing the app; your consent where required; and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with: (a) Shopify, as the platform hosting your store; (b) service providers that help us run the app, such as cloud hosting and infrastructure, database, error monitoring, and transactional email providers, under confidentiality and data-processing obligations; and (c) authorities or third parties where required by law or to protect our rights.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain data only as long as needed to provide the app or as required by law. When you uninstall the app, we delete or anonymize the associated store and personal data within a reasonable period. We also honor the mandatory Shopify compliance requests: customer data-access requests (customers/data_request) and erasure requests (customers/redact and shop/redact).
7. Data security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent. Merchants can exercise these rights, and submit requests on behalf of their customers, by contacting us at aweapps.contact@gmail.com. Store customers should contact the merchant that controls their data; for store data we act as a processor on behalf of the merchant.
9. International data transfers
We may process and store data in countries other than the one in which you are located. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Children
The app is intended for business use by merchants and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date shown above.
